The Paraguayan Immigration Program offering resident status for scientific researchers is open only until the 8 May 2018! The programme was created to repatriate formerly Paraguayan researchers and scientists, but Paraguay welcomes foreigners and grants permanent residence permit for the high-skilled applicants.

“The National Council of Science and Technology, within the framework of the “ProCiencia Program”, invites interested institutions to present candidates for the Repatriation and Filing Program for Foreign Researchers in Paraguay. This tool is aimed at incorporating highly qualified professionals from abroad, through universities or institutions dedicated to scientific and technological research, “said the agency.

This call is addressed to universities, academic centres, institutes or governmental or non-governmental research centres, public or private, associated with academic centres. All must have substantial experience in R & D management, individually or in an associative manner.

“The main objective of the program is to promote the recruitment or recovery of highly qualified professionals to strengthen national human capital. Through the repatriation of Paraguayan researchers-scientists and the permanent or temporary linkage of foreign researchers-scientists who wish to settle in the country, “said the Council, according to the Cienciadelsur.

The Proposed Researchers may be foreigners of qualification with a desire to settle in Paraguay institutionally proposed for the consolidation of research groups and promote or strengthen new lines/areas of research.

Step by Step Guide to the Paraguayan Researcher’s Residence Programme

1. You have to read the Terms and Conditions and all Guidelines.

2. Apply through the CONACYT – SPI site at the following option: “Programa de Repatriación y Radicación de Investigadores del Exterior en el Paraguay.”
Complete the Application Form
Complete, sign and validate all necessary documents.
At this stage, you must verify your level of PRONII.

3. Admission
The prospects, who entered the evaluation process and meet the conditions may continue.

4. Evaluation
Applications once admitted, will be evaluated by Multidisciplinary Teams that will be set up for each stage of the process, who will take into account the criteria for the evaluation established in the Bases and Conditions Guide.

5. Selection
At the end of each Nomination stage, the CONACYT team will upload the list of successful applicants.
Start of the programme: 9 March 2018
Closure of the programme: 9 May 2018
